Today is tax day in the US, the last day to get your taxes done and mailed in on time. Some of us are paying out to the government and some are getting a refund, but everyone can use a break when it comes to money. The food world is helping out with just this sort of thing by giving away free and discounted food!
Cinnabon is giving out 2 free cupcake bites today between 6pm and 8pm to make the day “Less Taxing”. Another sweets restaurant, Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream and Treatery, is treating customers to a free sample of it’s new MaggieMia’s Ice Cream Pizza “The Pizza that Melts in Your Mouth” between 3pm and 7pm. Even Dairy Queen is getting in on the giving with free samples via the “Blizzardmobile“ from noon to 1pm outside the Washington, DC IRS office!
If you’re looking for something less like dessert, check out Taco Del Mar for their free taco on tax day because “Taxes Suck, Tacos Don’t” , but make sure to go to the site and the form they have there to get your Free Taco 1099! Got a reusable coffee mug? Head on over to Starbucks for a free cup of Java.
If you want a whole meal type deal P.F. Chang’s is giving a 15% discount on food purchases and you don’t even have fill out any forms! Another place to check out would be McCormick & Schmick’s Sea food Restaurant and their $10.40 Dinner Specials and Drink Specials today, and tomorrow (April 16th) is Tax Preparer Appreciation Day, where you professional tax preparers can show your business card and receive a complimentary dessert with your meal along with a $10.40 Tax Relief Certificate to reward you for all those long hours and hard work these last few months!
Whole Foods, not wanting to be left out of all the giving also is providing discounts to it’s customers today by picking up the tax bill all day on groceries in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia.
Taxes aren’t fun to do, but you can at least give yourself a reward for doing them this year!
