Why go on vacation to just relax when now you can go on vacation and learn something as well as do some hard work too. This isn’t just your average hard work though, it involves the intricacies of making beer!
At places like the Woodstock Inn Station and Brewery, in New Hampshire, people are signing up for not just a brewery tour but to also help make the beer by becoming more involved with the whole process. They learn about the beer that is being made while getting elbow deep in hops, cleaning the tanks, removing processed grain from the “mash tun,” basically getting the chance to be a part of the entire process of making beer.
In an article done by the New York Times, Glen Nile, one customer of Woodstock Inn, said “When it is something you enjoy doing, it can hardly be considered work. Plus, to work on a system like this is a real treat.”
Woodstock Inn isn’t the only craft brewery that offers this kind of special treat for brew aficionados. Dogfish Head Crafted Brewed Ales in Delaware has teamed up with The Inn at Canal Square to offer the same sort of experience to their customers. If you don’t live on the East Coast never fear, Independence, Oregon has Rogue Ales which has a 42-acre hops farm to go with their brewery.
So now you can not only drink and enjoy your beer, you can help make some too!
