Tomorrow, May 8th, is America’s largest single-day food drive, Stamp Out Hunger. Campbell Soup Company, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the U.S. Postal Service are working together to help Feeding America, the countries leading hunger-relief charity, provide food to the 1 in 6 Americans who struggle with hunger.
Last year 73.4 million pounds of food were collected, but this year they are hoping to collect over 1 billion pounds. For those that want to participate, it’s actually very easy. Just leave a good quality, sturdy bag with non-perishable foods such as rice, canned foods, pasta, cereal, beans, next to your mailbox before your mail carrier comes by at their regular time.
If you want to do more, you can just become a fan on Facebook. How does this help? For each person who becomes a fan at http://www.facebook.com/StampOutHunger Campbell Soup will donate one can of soup!
Remember that tomorrow won’t be the only day of the year that you can help out! Check out Feeding America to find out more about how you can help all year long!
