You may not have heard about What’s on Your Plate or even about  Sadi and Safiyah, but these are two young New York City girls that are on a mission. A mission to find out all there is to know about food, where it comes from, how to grow it, how to pick it and what to do with it. The twist is they’re doing it on camera and are asking questions that most adults don’t even think of when it comes to eating.

This isn’t just a way for these eleven-year-olds to find out more about food, it’s also pulling in other kids from different places thanks to  Catherine Gund, who produced the film and is helping spread the word by having screenings all over the US.

Not all of us can go and actually see the film, but you can help educate children by asking the ones you know what they think about food. Help them learn about it on a smaller scale by perhaps visiting a farm or growing some veggies and having them help!
