Dessert doesn’t have to be unhealthy. It can be healthy and have tons of flavor! This baked pear with oatmeal crumble is perfect for doing just that! It’s so good for you, that you can even add in a dollop of homemade whipped cream if you just want!

4 Pears, medium sized
1 oz (28g) dry oatmeal, instant, plain
1 teaspoon (5g) butter, unsalted and melted
1 teaspoon (4g) brown sugar, packed
½ teaspoon (2g) cinnamon
Peel the pears and cut in half the long way. Using a small spoon, scoop out the core and seeds on each pear half. You will wind up with a half circle perfect for filling with the oatmeal crisp. Place the pears on the baking sheet with the hole side up.
In a bowl place the oatmeal, butter, cinnamon and brown sugar. Mix together well. The oatmeal should clump up nicely. Place a small spoonful in each hole in the pears and mound it up above just a little.
Place in a preheated oven of 350F(175C) and allow to bake in the oven about 25 minute or until the pears have a slight brown color to the top and will caramelize.
Let cool a minute or two before serving either plain or with some homemade whipped cream!
