A lot of men who like chicken wings, like them hot and spicy. These wings are a great alternative to your average hot wings with an Asian flare. Dad will love these spicy, sweet, and crispy baked chicken wings!

    Serves 5
    Time required 100 minutes
    Difficulty level 2
    Cost of ingredients 10 USD

  • 2 pounds (1Kg) chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) chili paste or sauce
  • 2 tablespoon (30ml) garlic chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, powdered
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped

In a bowl whisk together soy sauce, chili paste, garlic chili sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, green onions and ginger.

Place chicken in a zip bag and add in spicy sauce. Put bag in a bowl, just in case there are any leaks, and allow to marinate in the fridge for a hour at the very least (try for longer if you can to let the sauce give more flavor to the wings).

Pre-heat oven to 400F (200C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Remove wings from the bag and discard the sauce left in it. Spread chicken wings out on the baking sheet. Place wings in the oven for about  15 minutes. Turn wings over and allow to bake another 15 minutes. Turn oven up to broil and allow to broil for 5 minutes on each side to crisp the skin on the wings.

Allow to cool about 5 minutes before serving!
