Moroccan Orange Salad

Salads are usually done with lettuce and vegetables. This Moroccan orange salad uses oranges as the main ingredient along with orange juice as the main part of the dressing! Citrus flavor with red onions and crunchy almonds make this salad a great new  addition during the summer!

    Time required 10 minutes

    Cost of ingredients 5 USD

  • ½ cup (125ml) orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 oranges, peeled and sliced into rounds
  • 1 red onion, sliced into half circles
  • ¼ cup slivered almonds (optional)
  • 4 dates, pitted and chopped (optional)

In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, cilantro, lime juice, cumin seeds and cinnamon. Set aside.

Take a large bowl and place orange slices, red onion slices, almonds and dates.  Pour the dressing on top and then toss to coat.

Refrigerate and serve cold.
