Delicious and Healthy Salmon Burger!

Yesterday, we heard about how fish makes the brain evolve and gives more brain power. Today, we have a delicious salmon recipe that has all that brain food thrown into a fantastic healthy burger!

Cost of ingredients 6 USD

  • 12 ounces (340g) salmon, canned or fresh, drained well and shredded
  • 1 cup (250ml) bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon dill, ground
  • 1 stalk celery, finely minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 pinch mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon (2ml)  ground pepper
  • ½ teaspoon (2ml) salt
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 6 slices tomato
  • 6 leaves lettuce
  • 6 buns, toasted

Place salmon, eggs, dill, celery, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, mustard powder, pepper, salt and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well with you hands so everything is evenly distributed.

Form 6 patties, cover and refrigerate for about 10 minutes.

If grilling, oil the grill before cooking the salmon patties. If using a pan, heat the pan on medium high and add in oil. Place patties on pan 2 at a time and cook each side about 4-5 minutes each side, depending on how thick they are.

Place on bun and top with tomato and lettuce. Serve with your choice of condiments!
