Orange and White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oranges can go with many different things, but one combination that almost everyone loves is orange and chocolate! These cookies use orange zest and white chocolate chips to meld the two flavors for a fantastic treat!

  • 1 cup (250ml) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) white sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) orange zest
  • 2 1/4 cups (560ml) flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon (4ml) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2ml) salt
  • 2 cups (500ml) white chocolate chips

In a large bowl cream together butter and sugars until they become light and fluffy. Add in the egg and continue to beat  with the mixer. Next add in the orange zest and mix well. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt together in a separate bowl then add to the cream mixture.

Add in white chocolate chips by stirring with a spoon.  Using a spoon drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet in a pre-heated oven at 350F (175C) and bake for 10 – 12 minutes. Remove and allow to cool a couple of minutes before serving.
